We at ?KODA do everything we can to keep you safe on the road. Not only do our cars feature the most advanced equipment that should both actively prevent accidents and protect occupants in case of an emergency, but we also want to show you how you yourself can contribute to your own safety. Because for us, putting safety first means to care – about yourself, about your passengers, about others on the road. Have a safe drive!
It‘s safe to care. With all the advanced technology within our reach, it’s easy to overlook the one thing that makes every drive truly safe. And that is you. The driver.
Since driver is the most important safety feature, it’s crucial to know the basic and not so basic principles of safe driving. That also includes understanding how to make the best use of safety assistant systems. We’ll show you. Using an example of the two most common driving situations – driving in dense city traffic versus long distance driving.
Check out this detailed overview of all the advanced driver-assistance systems in ?KODA models. In every car, you will find safety and comfort systems ensuring ease of travel whatever the circumstances.

Long before cars, ?KODA was all about bikes. Now we take care of cyclists and drivers alike. Together, we share the same roads and it is only by paying attention to traffic education that we can better cooperate and prevent dangerous situations.
The fruits of our labours are reflected in the maximum 5-star ratings awarded to most of our models in Euro NCAP crash tests.
A very important safety feature is the Emergency Call/eCall, which is part of ?KODA Connect and is free of charge for the car’s entire lifetime. In the event of accident, a connection to the emergency centre is automatically established. Data such as the location, direction, number of passengers and severity of the accident is forwarded. Professional assistance can then reach the site as quickly as possible.
The main purpose of airbags, in tandem with the seat belts, is to prevent the occupants’ bodies from coming into contact with any rigid parts of the car, or at least to minimise the consequences of any such contact.
The driver is protected by a front airbag mounted in the steering wheel. The front passenger’s front airbag, with a deactivation feature, is located in the dashboard.
The driver’s knee airbag, mounted in the lower part of the dashboard under the steering wheel column, is designed to protect the driver’s legs in case of frontal impact.
Side airbags in the front seats protect the thorax and pelvis of both the driver and passenger in case of a side impact.
Backseat passengers also benefit from the protection afforded by side airbags.
Curtain airbags cover the window area and the car’s inner structure from the A-pillar to the C-pillar. They protect the heads of occupants in both the front and rear seats, thus guaranteeing maximum safety.
Selected ?KODA models are available with state-of-the-art all-wheel drive, guaranteeing optimal driving dynamics and the highest level of active safety in all circumstances, including in the wet and snow. Discover which models offer AWD and more about how it works.
The cabin of all ?KODA models is manufactured from the hardest possible materials in order to provide the passengers with maximum protection.
Every parent will insist that the top priority is to protect the smallest passengers whom standard safety belts cannot help. We agree, so in all ?KODAs you'll find useful safety features effectively protecting all small travellers.
In all ?KODA models, you will find attachment points for children’s car seats using the Isofix system, which enables the easy installation of car seats while ensuring that they are firmly fixed to the vehicle’s body. What is more, they are supplemented with Isofix frames or Top Tether clasps in the vehicle’s luggage area, thereby limiting the rotation of the car seats.
We share a common goal with you: the safest possible travel for you and your loved ones. This is why we recommend several different types of tried-and-tested, 100% compatible ?KODA Genuine Accessories child seats for children of various ages. With Isofix, they can be safely attached to the rear outboard seats; this system is available as an option for the front passenger seat, too.
All child seats from ?KODA Genuine Accessories comply with European safety regulations (EHK 44.04) and have passed a number of other tests. The high quality and safety of these child seats is demonstrated by their excellent results in the Euro NCAP impact test, together with successful non-combustibility testing, harmful substance ratings and cover quality.
The range of ?KODA Genuine Accessories includes mandatory safety equipment and items that will be a godsend if the unexpected happens. The complete range of accessories can be found in our e-shop.
